Rent has become a cultural phenomenon. Based loosely on Puccini’s La Bohème, Jonathan Larson’s Rent follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS against a backdrop of social disadvantage, homelessness and substance abuse.

Our show coincides with World AIDS day, the first of which was in 1988 some 8 years before Rent was first performed.

We especially welcome audition applications from the global majority and from individuals with competency in British Sign Language.

Tuesday 28 November – Saturday 2 December 19:30 with a matinee 14:30 on the Saturday. Performances will be in the Seligman Theatre in Chapter.
