The clubnight on 9 November was an excellent introduction on how to direct a play for Everyman.

It was led by Barry Slack and professional director Simon West, both very experienced directors who have worked with Everyman for years. Both directors talked about their pathway into directing and the role of the director. Barry produced a list of the major steps to go through as a potential director for Everyman and talked about them. He said more information was on the website. This was followed by a lively and interesting question and answer session.

The clubnight was rounded off with a group activity: each group was given part of a play to read through, then asked to discuss the script and decide how they would stage the play, considering costumes, acting style etc.

It was a successful evening as quite a few members were interested in considering directing a play for Everyman, or at least directing a Clubnight.
