Clubnight: Roles That We Will Never Play – Breaking Out Of Our Typecast

The Hero, The Girl Next Door, The Comedian, The Villain. As actors, we tend to be type-cast into a particular stereotype. This is based on our gender, age, ethnicity, body-type, voice and physical mannerisms. We can become strongly identified with a specific character type. But what if we were to strip away all these barriers? What role would you cast yourself as, that a casting panel wouldn’t call you in for? A role that you aren’t traditionally meant to play because you’re a different gender, too young, too tall, too old, a different nationality?

Nuala Lomax hosts this clubnight welcoming people to bring a monologue, a song, a duologue – to play a role that you would love to perform, but never get the chance to traditionally play.
