Clubnight: Melting Pot – Acting at, and to, the Microphone with Marilyn Le Conte

A session for actors on approaches to performing at the microphone, referencing audio drama,narration, voice over and podcasts.

We will look at:

* how to project
* where to focus
* how to create an imaginary but authentic environment or space
* how to characterise believably and even take on more than one role in a production
* how to connect to an audience you can’t see and that can’t see you
* how to connect to the microphone
* how to be truthful
* and how to create a world of detail and colour in the imagination of infinte numbers of listeners

Please bring mobile / smart phones, a children’s story book (can be sourced on-line if you don’t have access) aimed at under 10s and 30 – 40 seconds of a monologue that suits your voice and age group OR a bit of narration OR a poem that you like.
