Do you want to help support the Festival but have no Paypal?

It was with great sadness that I had to announce last month that Everyman Theatre had been forced to cancel the 2020 Festival. Rather than cancelling the productions and events we intend to postpone them till the summer of 2021.

Everyman Theatre is a charity run wholly by unpaid volunteers. Our Festival receives no outside funding or grants. Its survival year on year (this would have been the 38th) is dependant entirely on ticket sales plus bar and sundry sales. Despite being run by volunteers the festival gives employment to theatre professionals, directors and designers, and it now costs nearly £200,000 a year to stage.

All tickets have of course been refunded, which means that significant costs already incurred have had to be written off, meaning that Everyman Theatre is facing inevitable and significant losses due to this cancellation.

The Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival is one of the largest, if not the largest, single site open air theatre festivals in the UK. To secure its future as the theatrical jewel in the crown of the Cardiff summer we are asking those who can to make a small donation to minimise as far as possible this year’s losses, and to secure the future of the Festival. If enough people could chip in a fiver we will endeavour to make the 2021 Festival the best ever.

If you can, please donate at – https://www.paypal.com/gb/fundraiser/charity/3333618

Very best wishes to you all – and keep safe.
