As you may (or may not) know, June 15th is the date on which Captain Scott left Roath Dock in the “Terra Nova”, bound for his ill-fated voyage to the South Pole, in 1910. Patricia Cornelius used this expedition as a metaphor for our final journey in life in her award winning play “Do Not Go Gentle”. Everyman is staging this play at Chapter Arts Centre in September, with a cast comprised of 4 members of Everyman Theatre Company in Cardiff and 5 members of The Drill Hall Theatre Company in Mullumbimby New South Wales.

We (that is, the Cardiff cast and team) have arranged an ‘interview’ with Julian Salisbury (Vice President of The Scott Society) in the room in “The Royal Hotel” where Scott and his men had their final dinner before embarking on the expedition.  Among other we will chat about this ambitious Amateur Theatre project  – our recent involvement in Age Cymru’s “Gwanwyn Festival” and Chapter’s Dementia Awareness event.

We’d love to hear if you’d like to hear more..
