Ever wondered what it’s like to write for a TV soap or getting to grips with medical jargon writing for “Casualty” or joining a writing room in LA?
Then join the clubnight Zoom session this Wednesday to hear Matthew Barry talk about his career so far.
Born in Cardiff, Matthew was initially involved in acting and appeared in “Mine All Mine” by Russell T Davies and an episode of “Casualty. He was also successful in getting into the National Youth Theatre of GB in 2002.
Resuming his studies, Matthew read History and Politics at Warwick University, before being accepted on the BBC writer’s course in 2010.
As a result he wrote episodes for “Eastenders”, “Casualty”, “Death in Paradise” before leaving for LA three years ago and contributing to episodes of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”.
At present, Matthew is writing “The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue” for HBO, “We Are Monsters” for Amazon, and a modern live action adaptation of “ Dennis the Menace” for Jerry Bruckheimer and Beano Studios.
There will be the opportunity to ask Matthew questions in the session.
The entry code for Zoom will be the same as last week and is hosted by Simon Futty
