“Trick Or Treat?”

In this Halloween Melting Pot workshop for Everyman Theatre, Cardiff scriptwriter and author Nigel Crowle looks at the enduring popularity of horror as a theme for stage, film, literature and TV.

He promises to involve participants in some fiendish writing exercises that will chill the blood and send shivers up the spine.

Nigel’s TV writing credits include scripts for a number of BAFTA-winning drama, entertainment and children’s series. His stage plays have been performed professionally in Wales, Scotland and England. The TV adaptation of his stage play, ‘Shorten Curlies’, brought him his own BAFTA nomination as Best Scriptwriter.

With David Walliams, he co-created and co-wrote the ‘Ant & Dec Show’ for the BBC. He’s written scripts for performers such as Rob Brydon, Ben Kingsley, Griff Rhys-Jones, Isla Fisher, Ruth Jones and Jack Lemmon. Nigel also wrote lyrics for the OSCAR- nominated animated film, ‘Famous Fred’, starring Lenny Henry.
