Blue Stockings Cast

Everyman Theatre will stage Blue Stockings, the critically acclaimed first play by writer/director Jessica Swale on Chapter’s main stage from Tuesday 17 – Saturday 21 March 2020.

In 1896, the ladies of Girton College, Cambridge, find themselves at a turning point in history. They are not allowed to graduate, for women’s education is still in its infancy, despite the women being every bit as worthy as their male counterparts. However the ladies who defied the common route for their sex, instead choosing education were nicknamed “Bluestockings”, a title which was often used negatively.

A story fit for the modern age asks the question, if you had to choose love or knowledge, what would you do?

Tickets will be available soon – more details to follow.
